I'm at this time a student of nursing and I have 2 children, but I try to dance as often as I can. I practice dancing in different dance groups in the area where I live, for example Jondalen, Porsgrunn, Kongsberg and Bø.
I started to dance in my mother's belly, and have danced ever since. My mother (Karin W. Brennesvik) is my biggest inspiration, beside the enormous endorphin kick I get out of it. Growing up in the folk music society in Norway gave me ample opportunity to learn to dance the natural way, by just doing it. At the age of 9 I entered my first competition and I held my first dance classes at the age of 13-14. I have had several mentors during my life of dancing, both men and women, but many of them men, since they could help me by dancing with me. I can't mention names, the list would be way to long and they are from all parts of Norway.
I have taught dance classes in Norway, everything from short one hour lessons to camps for beginners and advanced dancers. After a long competition break of 10 years I started to dance with Eivind for performances and in Feb 2007 we entered our first competition together and we won Landskappleiken (Norwegian Championship) that year and the next.
